<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">When choosing colors for the room, select pale hues. A pale blue and green are like a peaceful ocean scene and light tans remind us of the sand.&#160;Light colors are relaxing. Keep your colors to only 2-3 for the room. When there too many colors does not allow the eye to feel restful. The minimal color scheme keeps things simple and clean. It is a good idea to select your paint color last. There is a much larger selection of paint colors then things like the carpet, tile, fabric trim or the fabric selection for the furniture you choose. Select all those larger elements prior to selecting your paint color. You can even get custom colors mixed to get the exact color you want so your choices of paint color are really endless.</div>

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Select soft fabrics and fabric trim. Soft equals comfort and comfort equals relaxation. Use fabrics with texture and richness. Soft texture provides a cozy environment. Try using a chenille fabric as a main fabric. Some chenilles are extra soft. Adding fabric trims such as brush fringe to a pillow adds another level of richness and softness. Use those pale colors with low contrast to all your fabrics and fabric trim.</div>

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Less is more. Keep furniture and accessories to a minimum. Simplicity is restful for the mind and eyes. Do not clutter your space with too many unnecessary items.&#160;Keep things simple and utilitarian.</div>

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Add a restful ambience by using lamps with low wattage. The correct type of lighting is very important to creating a serene place to relax. <div style="text-align: center; margin: 0in 0in 0pt" align="center"><span style="font-size: 12pt">When mixing and matching different fabrics and fabric trims in a room there a few basic things to keep in mind.</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">&#160;</div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.25in"><b>Scale and Shape</b>:&#160;Keep the main fabrics in a different scale and a variety of shapes. Basic scale refers to large, medium and small.&#160;For example:&#160;A large floral, a medium plaid and a small print work well together.<span>&#160;&#160; Shape refers to what shapes or types are the design in the fabric.&#160;I think it is important to keep the number of large prints in a room to minimum.&#160;You can add interest with more small prints, stripes and plaids.</span></div>

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.25in"><b>Color relevancy:</b>&#160;When mixing a group of 5-6 fabrics, try to have some of the colors from one fabric match some of the colors in other fabrics.&#160;It can be just 1 or 2 colors matching from one fabric to another to pull it together.&#160;Try not to worry about all the colors from one fabric matching all the colors from another fabric.&#160;Just make them relevant to each other.</div>

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.25in"><b>Creative Twist:</b>&#160;Remember, it is actually more interesting to the eye to have some of your colors similar but not an exact match.&#160;This can sometimes be tricky to achieve but you can practice with different color samples before making a final decision.&#160;Try different swatches together and see how it still works even when the colors are not exactly the same.</div>

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.25in"><b>Scale and Shape</b>:&#160;Keep the main fabrics in a different scale and a variety of shapes. Basic scale refers to large, medium and small.&#160;For example:&#160;A large floral, a medium plaid and a small print work well together.<span>&#160;&#160; Shape refers to what shapes or types are the design in the fabric.&#160;I think it is important to keep the number of large prints in a room to minimum.&#160;You can add interest with more small prints, stripes and plaids.</span></div>
